Directed by Hofesh Shechter, East Wall will bring together a large cast of dancers, musicians and community participants to celebrate east London’s rich cultural heritage.

Soul Of Fado  

This is the Promo Video of Soul of Fado, a new outdoor show fusing Fado music with contemporary dance and pyrotechnics. It was filmed at GDIF 2014.

NuFado is an intimate work that fuses contemporary dance, narrative, enchanting melodies and electronic harmonies. Created by performer Nuno Silva, following the highly successful run of ‘A Darker Shade of Fado’ at Greewich Dance, this show features famous Fado songs from Lisbon, such as ‘Barco Negro’ and ‘Foi Deus’, as well as new electronic compositions.

The fusion of contemporary and traditional Portugese music is performed by Nuno and played by eclectic musician Sabio Janiak. The music will be recreated with a unique combination of instruments, beatboxing, loops, electronic sounds and the traditional guitar.

Sabio & Sister Elements

Has spent the past 10 years performing in the UK and overseas under the moniker of Sarah Sayeed, and grew her reputation as ‘the fearless lyricist’ over this period. Bobby Friction described her as ‘A 360 degree conscious artist’, Asiana Magazine called her ‘The Asian Lily Allen’ and Live Nation stated that was an artist ‘Clearly in the driving seat and moving forward.’ The real proclamation came for the artist when a fan described her work and her thinking as ‘Ahead of Her Time’ Over the last 3 years Sister Elements has emerged as a new artist with a statement a vision. More mature and with more musical skills under her belt, she is out to prove she can grace the stages with her captivating live performances, and create music/albums which speak and reach out to people.  In this exciting collaboration, Sister Elements works with The Sabio  – live act  to create powerful  energetic  new musical work.


LCP’s Dance Theatre 2011 remarkable production “Rights(?)” was sponsored by the BBC, in collaboration with the African dance company Tavaziva Dance. LCP Dance Theatre was formed in 2006 and is led by Polish Artistic Director Joanna Puchala who is now based in London. It is a multi-media and multi-ethnic dance company that uses live performance and film to raise awareness of human rights violations.

FASHION CULTURE
Both of the past two editions of Fashion Culture event proved a great success and the project has earned a wide recognition within the European fashion industry. Since the beginning, Fashion Culture has been supported by many influential representatives from the wide circles of art, culture and diplomacy, such as Prince Jan Zylinski and Republic of Poland Ambassador to the United Kingdom – Witold Sobkow.

Partners of the third edition of the project include:

Victor Fung’s latest productionL’Étranger is a contemporary dance work departing from Albert Camus’s novel which explores the notion of time as a human experience. At times elaborated and suspended while stranded and disjointed at others, the protagonists finds themselves caught in fleeting moments of presence and existence.

Featuring a cast of some of the finest dance artists in Hong Kong together with an original score by Polish composer Sabio Janiak and lighting design by Lee Chi Wai, L’Étranger brings a unique cinematic experience to the live stage.

Shoreditch Youth Dance

Performance Collaboration Exploration Education Choreography Training Shoreditch Youth Dance is a practice based education, training & leadership programme which supports and works with young people and emerging/ transitioning professional dancers. Founded in January 2010, SYD have been passionately creating challenging & inspiring projects whilst continuing to explore best practice in how to nurture and work creatively with and alongside young people. Young people and artists involved in SYD take part in all decision making and support the Artistic Director as young artist & leaders in training.
